I’m Paz Arando, a design leader passionate about creating a regenerative future at Climate Farmers.

Born in Patagonia and now based in Berlin, my journey has taken me from leading design teams at major tech companies like Mercado Libre and AutoScout24 to exploring life-centred design in a startup focused on scaling regenerative agriculture in Europe.

I'm also deeply connected to education and mentorship, sharing my knowledge and experience with designers and empowering changemakers through initiatives like PINE and Donar Online.

Life Centered Design

It’s time to move beyond human-centred design and expand our design process to consider all living systems as the centre and create value for nature, communities and the economy.

But we are not starting from scratch! Tweaking traditional UX and Research tools has been inspiring and fun, leading me to new methodologies like using non-human personas at Climate Farmers or facilitating Circular Design Sprints at Autoscout.

Design Leadership

I like applying a systemic approach to leadership that considers the product, the team, and the processes that connect them. Leading a team of 12 at Mercado Libre, I learned that the key is aligning the “what” and the “why,” facilitating strategic decisions and collaboration across teams.

I enjoy building relationships, sharing knowledge, mentoring and creating environments where everyone feels supported and inspired to bring their full potential.

Learning Experience Design

We cannot deny the power of education to drive change. That’s why I explore how to apply design thinking and combine it with TheoryU to create transformative learning experiences.

My work at PINE reflects this exploration, where 500 students from 17 countries in Latin America learn about new economic models that are more resilient, inclusive, and regenerative. Designing classes, materials and assignments that inspire action and hope.
